Pandora Media (NYSE:P): Current price $15.15

In a strategic move through which to reduce ASCAP fees, Pandora announced that it has acquired KXMZ-FM in Rapid City, South Dakota. The financials of the transaction were not reported. Although the acquisition of the small station affords the buyer few new listeners, Pandora bought the station in an endeavor to exploit the performance royalty fees available to broadcast radio stations, and Internet radio services operated by owners of broadcast radio stations. More than 70 million people listen to Pandora’s Internet radio service each month making it the leading Internet radio service in the United States.

Vodafone Group (NASDAQ:VOD): Current price $28.14

Vodafone is discussing with Kabel Deutschland Holding the prospect of acquiring the cable operator, worth a minimum of $9.5 billion, a deal that would aid the wireless carrier in its expansion into the broadband and TV market. Knowledgeable sources reckon that Vodafone’s informal offer values Kabel Deutschland at between 81 euros and 82 euros per share. Bloomberg News reports that Vodafone contacted Kabel Deutschland to talk about an offer in the past week. By buying out Germany’s largest cable provider, which has some 8.5 million connected households, Vodafone could  add fast fixed-line services to its mobile repertoire and prevent it from being snapped up by John Malone’s Liberty Global, which is said to also be interested.

3D Systems (NYSE:DDD): Current price $45.55

On Wednesday, 3D Systems announced that it will purchase around 80 percent of Phenix Systems, which provides Direct Metal Selective Laser Sintering 3D Printers, based in France. Phenix Systems creates, makes and sells proprietary Direct Metal 3D Printers that are able print chemically pure fully dense metal and ceramic parts from very fine powders having granularity of 6 to 9 microns. Materials include tool steel, stainless steel, super alloys, non-ferrous alloys, precious metals and alumina for a variety of aerospace, automotive and patient specific medical device applications.
